Your blanket projects, palette, inventory and progress are not automatically uploaded to the Operator.

Privacy Policy
Blanket Studio keeps your project data on your device wherever possible and explains when an online feature needs to contact an external service.
Precise location is requested only when you choose My Location and approve the browser/device prompt.
The current release has no behavioural advertising, third-party analytics or tracking pixels.
1. Controller and contact
Blanket Studio is operated by the publisher identified on the official website, download page, or app-store listing from which you access the App (the Operator). Privacy questions and data-rights requests can be sent using the support or privacy contact published on that official listing.
2. Local-first project data
The App can store project names, historical weather, temperature ranges, yarn names and colours, custom mappings, neutral/filler settings, dimensions, hook/yarn-planning settings, calibration information, yarn inventory, shopping-planning information, progress, notes and app preferences locally on your device.
In the web version, this is primarily browser storage. Packaged desktop versions may additionally keep limited recovery snapshots and a weather cache in the App's local data directory. This information is not automatically uploaded to the Operator.
If you export or save a project, the resulting file stays wherever you choose to save it. Any later sharing is controlled by you.
3. Location and weather services
Manual location search
When you type a city, region or landmark and request weather, the App sends the location query and the resulting coordinates/date range to Open-Meteo to identify the place and return historical weather. Network requests also expose ordinary technical information such as your IP address to the provider.
Open-Meteo states that free-API server logs may include IP addresses and potentially geographical coordinates for troubleshooting and abuse prevention, and that individual log files are deleted after 90 days. Open-Meteo Terms & Privacy.
My Location
My Location is optional. The App does not request precise location until you press My Location and your browser or operating system grants permission.
If allowed, the device provides current latitude and longitude to the App. Those coordinates are sent directly from your device to BigDataCloud to obtain a human-readable place name. The App does not send those coordinates to an Operator-owned server.
BigDataCloud states that its free client-side service observes the requesting IP address together with current coordinates and uses anonymised/aggregated GPS-to-IP signals to improve its geolocation data. BigDataCloud is based in Australia and states that data may be stored in Australia and the United States.

You can avoid this processing by typing a location manually. You can revoke location permission in your browser or device settings.
4. Other third-party resources
The current web interface loads the Inter typeface through Google Fonts. As with most remote web resources, the request may expose your IP address and browser/network information to Google. App project content is not intentionally included in that request.
SheetJS is self-hosted. Spreadsheet exports are generated locally using the vendored SheetJS Community Edition library, so workbook contents do not need to be sent to SheetJS.
5. What the App does not do
- No user accounts or cloud project sync in the current release.
- No advertising or behavioural advertising.
- No third-party analytics or tracking pixels.
- No sale of personal data.
- No automatic upload of your project, palette, inventory or progress data to the Operator.
The App uses browser local storage for functionality. Local storage is used to keep settings and project state on your device; it is not an advertising cookie.
6. Purposes and legal bases
Where GDPR or similar law applies, the App limits processing to the purposes below:
- Features you request: location lookup, weather retrieval, planning, exports, saving and recovery — performance of the requested service or steps taken at your request, where applicable.
- Precise geolocation: used only after your affirmative action and device/browser permission — consent. You can withdraw by not using My Location or revoking permission.
- Security and reliability: input limits, recovery, abuse prevention and technical safeguards — the Operator's legitimate interest in keeping the App secure and reliable, where applicable.
- Legal obligations: processing where required by applicable law.
7. Retention
Local project information remains on your device until you remove it, clear browser/app storage, uninstall the App, or delete saved/exported files. Supported desktop recovery uses a small rolling snapshot set.
The Operator does not set a server-side retention period for project data it does not receive. External providers control their own network logs and retention practices; their policies are linked above.
8. Sharing and recipients
- Open-Meteo: location search, coordinates/date range, weather requests and normal network metadata.
- BigDataCloud: current coordinates and normal network metadata when you choose My Location.
- Google Fonts: normal network/browser metadata when the web font is requested.
- Recipients you choose: when you manually export, share or send a project or spreadsheet.
The Operator does not sell App data to advertisers.
9. International processing
Depending on where you live and which feature you use, third-party services may process requests outside your country. Open-Meteo is operated from Switzerland. BigDataCloud states that it is based in Australia and that data may be stored in Australia and the United States. Google operates globally.
Where data-protection law requires safeguards for international transfers, the relevant processing must use an available lawful transfer mechanism. You can avoid the BigDataCloud location transfer by not using My Location.
10. Your choices and rights
- Use manual location entry instead of My Location.
- Deny or revoke geolocation permission.
- Clear browser/app storage to remove locally stored settings.
- Clear local recovery where the App provides that control.
- Delete exported project files from your own storage.
- Choose not to export or share project data.
Where applicable law grants rights such as access, correction, deletion, restriction, objection, withdrawal of consent or data portability, you may exercise them through the Operator's official privacy/support contact. Because most project information stays on your device, the Operator may not possess a copy.
If GDPR applies to you, you may also lodge a complaint with your national data-protection supervisory authority.
11. Children
The App is a general-purpose craft-planning tool and is not designed to create profiles of children or intentionally collect children's personal data. Parents or guardians should supervise the use of device-location permissions by children where required by law.
12. Security
The App uses a local-first design, restrictive browser security headers where supported, limits and validation for imported project files, local path safeguards in desktop builds, and does not embed developer-owned API secrets in public browser code. No storage or transmission method is completely secure, so keep exported files in locations you trust.
13. Changes to this Policy
This Policy may change when App features, service providers or legal requirements change. Material changes should update the effective date and policy version shown above.
